Commissions & payouts

As an account representative, you get your own view of the business you bring in: the commissions you earn on the merchants you manage, the running balance of what you’re owed, and the payouts you’ve received. This guide covers getting into the platform and finding each of those things.

Everything you see is scoped to you. You won’t see other representatives’ books or your ISO’s admin tools.

You don’t sign yourself up. Access starts with an invitation from your ISO, the organization you represent. When they add you, you receive an email inviting you to join them on MySplitPay.

Open the link in the invitation email. You’ll land on a page that confirms which ISO invited you and the email address the invite was sent to. From there:

  • If you’re new to MySplitPay, choose I’m new here, create a password, and optionally add a phone number.
  • If you already have a MySplitPay login (for example, you represent more than one ISO), choose I have an account and enter your existing password to link the new access to it.

Once you’ve accepted, you’re signed in.

After you’ve accepted, sign in any time from the login page with your email and password. If you forget your password, use the Forgot password link to reset it.

You can update your name, phone number, password, and display theme at any time from User Settings, in the account menu at the top of the page.

You earn a commission on each processing account (MID) you’re assigned to, at a rate your ISO sets for that MID. As your merchants process payments and your ISO loads the resulting reports, the commissions you’ve earned are added to your ledger.

Your ledger records everything that affects what you’re owed:

  • Commissions: what you earned on each MID, by period.
  • Credits: amounts your ISO adds in your favor, such as a bonus or an adjustment.
  • Deductions: amounts subtracted, such as a correction or a chargeback-related adjustment.
  • Payouts: money already paid out to you, which reduces your balance.

At the top of your ledger is your current balance, the total you’ve earned but haven’t been paid yet. Below it, the transaction history shows each entry with its date and amount, so you can see how your balance was built. You can export this history to a CSV file to keep your own records or reconcile against a payment you received.

Your ISO sets the rate on each MID, so the rate you see is there for reference; it reflects your current arrangement. If a rate or an assignment looks wrong, raise it with your ISO.

A payout is how your ISO pays you what you’ve earned. Your outstanding balance sits in your ledger until your ISO issues a payout that draws it down. You don’t issue payouts yourself.

Open My Payouts to see your full payout history. The summary at the top shows:

  • Paid to you: the total you’ve been paid, across every payout you’ve received.
  • Outstanding: your current balance, still awaiting your next payout.
  • Last payout: when you were most recently paid, and its payout number.
  • Pending corrections: any adjustments queued for an upcoming payout (explained below).

Below the summary is the list of every payout you’ve received, each showing its date, a payout number, the number of line items it contained, and the amount. You can search, filter, sort, and page through the list, and export it to CSV.

Select any payout to open its statement, an itemized breakdown of exactly what that payment covered. A statement shows:

  • The total amount paid.
  • A composition summary of how the total splits across commissions, credits, and deductions.
  • The line items themselves, each tagged with a colored type label (commission, credit, or deduction) so you can see what made up the payment.

You can download the statement as a CSV file for your own records. A payout you’ve received is settled; it’s a fixed record of what you were paid.

Sometimes a figure changes after a payout has already gone out, usually because your ISO corrected the commission rate on one of your MIDs. Rather than alter a payment you’ve already received, MySplitPay records a correction: a credit or a deduction applied to your next payout instead. Every statement you’ve received stays accurate as of the day it was issued, and the difference is settled going forward. If a correction is waiting, you’ll see it flagged in your payouts summary.

Reloading a report is not one of those causes. A commission is paid once for a given MID and period, so once a payout has covered that period for that MID, your ISO can upload a fresh copy of the processor file without reopening what you were already paid.

The glossary defines merchants, MIDs, commissions, ledgers, payouts, and the rest in plain language. Your profile and password live in User Settings, in the account menu.
